Holly
Holly, with her Simpsons-like jaw is a 3 year old dark brown and black alpaca. We call Holly the weird one. She can sometimes have some bad manners, or get a little excited and that’s what makes her who she is. Holly is the most bizarre and confirmation-wise is not the best example of an alpaca, but we chose her not for this but for her personality, which is so unique, and perhaps never to be duplicated.
When Holly turned 3 years old, we looked at the various Holly noises we captured just over the last few months!
Holly loves the sunshine (and rain), but the thing she loves most is visitors. Visitors means treats and attention!
As you can see, still very much the messy one, this time from food. Most days the mess is from happy rolling in the dirt.
Holly’s wool is incredible, so soft and shiny. It has been a joy to knit with Holly’s wool which has been very popular.
Sometimes I enjoy walking Holly when there is a spare alpaca free with our clients, leading at the front exploring.
If you adopt Holly, you’re not only getting yourself, or someone for a gift, a year long subscription to newsletters all about Holly and the farm, you’re supporting this small business and becoming a part of our journey. As well as this, some of the possibilities your adoption fee pays for and gives Holly are:
Feeds Holly special nutirents alpacas need for 1 year
Holly’s annual injection and any necessary parasite treatments
3 fence repairs to keep Holly safe
2 cans of petrol to help us maintain healthy pasture for Holly
10 bales of hay, which will feed Holly for the duration of the adoption
7 bags of carrots… which is too much for Holly to eat in a year, but given the chance, she would!
A paddling pool and hours of splash and cooling-down fun
1 hour of training to help Holly with her patience to keep her happier
