Walk the alpacas
Would you like to walk the alpacas through the beautiful village of Sanzay? It’s a wonderful experience with charming chemins alongside the fields, calming affects of spending time with the animals and beautiful sites including the magnificent 13th century Chateau de Sanzay.
Is walking an alpaca something you’ve wanted to try? We have a few different routes to take which will be chosen on the day depending on your preference, the weather, the alpacas’ choices, as it’s for their pleasure too!
It’s a beautiful way to start the day, bonding with your alpaca companion.
You can walk one person to one alpaca (ages 14+), or if you choose, two people to one alpaca, please select this at the booking.
Please, no under 5s who we have many other experiences on offer that they will enjoy.
It is possible that others visitors will book the same walk as you. If you want your own private alpaca walk, please contact us and we’ll happily create your perfect experince.
Parts of the walk will be along the main village road, which does have a small amount of passing traffic and neighbours.
“We had a wonderful time at the farm with Sophie, Will, and their lovely alpaca ladies. Sophie thoroughly explained the rules and how best to approach the alpacas so they felt calm and allowed us to stay around them. We fed them and walked them and Sophie and Will were very knowledgeable and calming (I was a bit freaked out at first as I’ve never been around alpacas). By the end, I was calm and feeding them treats out of my hand. All thanks to Sophie and Will! They were also very accommodating to us when we had a bit of a travel mishap at the start. Their alpaca ladies are gentle, calm, and friendly. Highly recommended, we had a fantastic day!”
Why not add on the daily feed after your walk?
Our feeding experience is your chance to spend quality time with our herd.
You will spend some time sitting with them in their shelter. It is during this time that they are usually more affectionate and curious with our visitors.
Price - €25 per alpacas, additional €10 per extra person, minimum 3 alpacas per walk
