My stage : Day 2

Day 2:

Today was a bit different than yesterday but that's what I'm there for!

When I got there we let the alpacas out of the barn and manœuvred the gates to get them into the right field (the one we did the weeding in yesterday) and returned inside the house to learn how to structure, tweak some of the sentences, add photos that I had taken and then post the blog which took until lunchtime.

But just before eating our delicious scrambled egg and lardon sandwiches, we mixed up a sugar beet mixture which Sophie likes to call "mama food", then went out to check on everyone and feed some of the mixture to Blaze as she is slightly underweight.

Create magical memories with your family

Here at our alpaca farm in Deux-Sevres with one of our experiences with the alpacas

Or even better, extend your alpaca time with a stay in the glamping tent!

After lunch, we decided to attack the "Walnut garden", so Sophie and I stripped the fences of an old bamboo fencing while Will started the bonfire to burn the bamboo and all of the toxic plants that we got up yesterday, and the ones we took out of the garden today after doing the fence.

The next thing we did is go in for a little break to see how the page was doing, to have a drink and mostly to warm up a bit!

And then we gave Blaze some more mama food, next we did a round of poo picking, going round the shelter and all of the fields and alleys.

Finally, I mixed up their meal of the day, using alpamin, mama food and as Sophie likes to call it, "fancy hay" and they were indeed very hungry!

It was another great day at the farm, it's always very exciting and interesting as there is never a dull moment here. No matter what we're doing it always seems to be fun! I think it might be just being able to work around the animals and constantly having them present. I can't wait for tomorrow!

We’ve added this service so that you can support the farm from a far and give your support, a gift from you to them. This is a much easier way than trying to post a bag of carrots!

From something really little, to bigger gifts, everything is so appreciated. From a bag of (nutritious) treats, to essential hay, a big bag of feed, their vaccination or a visit from the vet; your support is magical.

We will do what we can when we can to show our thanks to you, from a thank you email with exclusive photos and videos for you, to a gift we would send.
